Hello my name is Lara Villa.

Growing up in Guadalajara in a family of extremes- one side, bohemian artists, the other, bookish academics, a duality of rationale was common. Freedom vs. structure, art vs. science, meaning vs. function, dreams vs. reality. As a designer, my process is driven by curiosity, diversity and discovery.

 

I immerse myself in the unknowns, question methodologies, absorb data and imagine possibilities, finding the scientific approach to a creative solution. I use these discoveries to find “the soul” of an object, one that connects on an emotional level and tells a story that resonates. Design for me is the marriage of order and chaos, science and art, logic and beauty.
